On July 1, 2025, Algoma Mutual and Dufferin Mutual came together to form Integrated Mutual Insurance Group, a unified, community-rooted mutual insurer backed by over 200 years of combined experience.
Though our name is new, our mission remains unchanged: to serve Ontario policyholders with trust, professionalism, and unwavering local commitment.

Algoma Mutual, founded in 1899 in Northern Ontario, and Dufferin Mutual, established in 1895 in Southern Ontario, have long served their policyholders with integrity, professionalism, and a deep commitment to local communities. Though geographically apart, they’ve shared remarkably aligned values, offering similar property and casualty products, participating in the same mutual insurance network, and prioritizing policyholder benefit above all else.
This amalgamation is not just a merging of operations, but a purposeful joining of two organizations with shared goals: strengthening financial resilience, expanding service capabilities, investing in modern technology, and continuing their legacy of meaningful community engagement.
While our name reflects our integrated future, we remain deeply rooted in the communities where Algoma and Dufferin began — serving policyholders with the same care, values, and mutual spirit that have defined us for over 125 years.
